● Explore one of the most renowned houses, where generations have perfected Taittinger’s elegant style.
● Step 18 meters underground into historic Gallo-Roman chalk quarries, visit their magnificent château and enjoy exclusive tastings.
● Include this visit in a full-day tour featuring another Champagne house and a gourmet lunch in between.
One of the oldest and largest Champagne estates today, Taittinger, traces its roots to a local soldier, Pierre Taittinger, whose deep love for his region sparked a multi-generational legacy, shaping one of the most renowned Champagne houses. Founded in 1932, the house developed at Château de la Marquetterie, a landmark that reflects its deep connection to the region’s heritage. Later in time, the House’s production was renamed after the family’s name, and chose to highlight Chardonnay to create light, refined, and elegant Champagnes. The Taittinger brand was born.
The House today boasts one of the most remarkable heritages in Champagne: the Saint-Nicaise cellars at the heart of the UNESCO-listed Gallo-Roman chalk quarries, the Demeure des Comtes de Champagne, and the Château itself.
Join a guided group visit of 10 to 12 participants and step into the Maison’s UNESCO-listed chalk cellars, where you’ll uncover the history, savoir-faire, and centuries-old traditions of Champagne-making. Led by a specialist, the tour immerses you in the heritage and artistry of the house, from its deep ties with creativity to the craftsmanship behind its most prestigious wines. The experience concludes with a refined tasting of several cuvées (from 2 to 3 depending on availability), offering a memorable introduction to the spirit of the Maison. Depending on the chosen format, visits generally last between 1.5 and 1 hour and 45 minutes.
